Abstract:
The current era, marked by the SARS COVID 19 pandemic and its mutations, places increased demands on most people around the world. Education is one of the areas where the biggest changes are evident as a result of this global pandemic. Many states closed primary, secondary, and university buildings, and pupils, students, and teachers had to adapt very quickly to new – distance – forms of education. These forms of teaching were until this time used as a complementary form of teaching classical, i.e. face-to-face teaching. In this context, it is interesting to compare what demands distance learning places on university students compared to classical teaching. The submitted paper focuses on students in the field of social work because this field is specific by its demands on communication and practical skills, linked to the application of knowledge from subjects.

The submitted paper examines how students of social work universities evaluate the difficulty of distance learning compared to classical teaching. The aim of the thesis is to find out how students evaluate the differences in the intensity of the requirements imposed on students through the distance form of teaching compared to the classical form of study and how they evaluate the difficulty of distance learning compared to the classical form of study. A quantitative strategy was used specifically the method of the questionnaire survey distributed via the Internet. The presented results are a partial output of a larger research investigation dealing with the evaluation of distance learning at the time of emergency measures taken by the government of the Czech Republic in the context of the epidemiological situation (COVID-19), which took place between December 2020 and March 2021 among university students of social work in the Czech Republic.
