Abstract:
A current topic in the European context in the field of criminology, sociology, psychology, social work and other helping professions is helping victims of crime. Legislation in the Czech Republic aimed at helping victims of crime is based on Directive 2012/29 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, which establishes minimum rules on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime. In the Czech Republic, a law on assistance to victims of crime was adopted in 2013, which emphasizes the rights of victims and their protection. It sets out ways to deal with particularly vulnerable victims and and requires high demands on the training of helping professionals.

The paper deals with the evaluation of the system of assistance to victims of crime in terms of institutional representation, territorial coverage and the range of forms of assistance offered. The possibility of specialized education for this area is evaluated. In the practical part, the analysis of documents and secondary sources will be used. The work is a pilot study for a larger research survey, which deals with the education of helping professionals in the field of assistance to victims of crime. With the help of this analysis, institutions with nationwide scope were selected, which were included in another research survey focused on the education and competencies of helping professionals in working with victims of crime. The work is intended for use in targeted education of helping professionals helping victims of crime.
