Abstract:
Within the frame of technical education, it is necessary to explain to students that applied physics and automation offer enormous opportunities for increasing the efficiency of technical processes, however, at the same time it is necessary to draw attention to the necessity to respect laws of nature, the limits of their validity and the necessity to set correctly the operating conditions and technological parameters of the reliable flow of technical processes.
During the last few years at the VSB - Technical university in Ostrava we try to implement an innovative approach in laboratory education. As an example of this effort, the article presents an innovative use of an intelligent drive “Dynamixel” of the company Robotis for measurement of Young's modulus of tensile elasticity under the conditions of a school laboratory. The presented experiments show how measurement of linear area can be adequately interpreted in the relations with the elastic and plastic areas of the deformation curve. Keywords:
