Abstract:
In the past, video lecture used to have a different meaning. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Croatia, video lectures are being used as a digital tool for teaching and education online. Creating video lectures requires, along with teaching competencies of teachers, a high level of digital literacy. Nowadays, a video lecture is a digital medium which enables interaction between students and educational contents. It is controlled and created by teachers with purpose of studying educational contents and acquiring skills according to the curriculum of the specific subject. Well-prepared contents of video lectures encourage the interest of students and maintain a constant attention and concentration by dynamic and diverse changes in activities and contents. The optimal length of a video lecture is 10 to 20 minutes. In this paper, we will present the procedure of creating a video lecture for music and art classes, purpose and intention of its components, and attitudes and opinions of teachers on using such video lectures in class.
