Abstract:
Nowadays the situation at Russian universities is being characterized by an influx of international students studying in different academic fields. This article observes the problem of adaptation of international students from near and far abroad to a new educational environment in the field of the Humanities at Kazan University. The relevance of the problem is determined by the fact that today more than 1500 international students study at the University unit, moreover, there is a tendency to increase its number, so the main challenge is the process of adaptability of international students at each level beginning from language adaptation to adaptation of an individual as a representative of an ethnic group with a definite set of norms and traditions to a new environment. It is known that there is a direct dependence of academic performance among international students on their ability to adjust to new educational activities. On the other hand adaptation of international students depends on a training system to take into account the adaptive abilities of the student and develop them. The authors analyze such features of adaptation as psychophysiological, educational, cognitive, sociocultural factors and examine the technologies that have already been used at university. The technologies aimed at achieving successful adaptation of international students to educational activities at the university are suggested.
