Abstract:
The relevance of the problem under discussion is caused by the fact that in today's world knowledge of foreign languages is a strong necessity. In this age of information technology and the Internet students and teachers enable to have unlimited possibilities for learning foreign languages in the activity-based approach. The purpose of the article is to review and to describe webquests in a process of learning a foreign language, as well as its use in foreign language lessons. The methods of the research are study, analysis and synthesis of recent advances on the subject in question and experiential learning. The results of the research are to give historical background of webquesting as an educational technology, theoretical foundation of its use in the classroom and also to describe the results of experimental learning. Conclusions of the article may be useful in the practice of teaching a foreign language.
