Abstract:
The main objective of this article is to highlight the results of improving the quality of graduate education and training in changing labour market conditions. No less important is the partial, and in some cases, comprehensive change of the graduate profile. One of the ways is through the introduction of an innovative educational system to meet the needs of practice, which are changing due to the influence of time and other factors. This is particularly the case in the areas of financial literacy, business skills training and management simulations, and basic legal education. The demands of practice still point to a lack of knowledge in basic economic and business skills. We still do not have education sufficiently linked to practice, students do not have the necessary flexibility they will need in practice. The lack of quality is also reflected in job offers on the labour market. Companies are no longer just looking for hard skills, they are looking for soft skills, and they are willing to retrain graduates, but it is essential that they are interested. Another requirement is the need for analytical and logical thinking, independent reflection on connections and correct evaluation of the information obtained. Equally important is the ability to communicate and work as part of a team. In this paper we will compare the needs and changes in education at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava before the pandemic and currently after the pandemic, as a factor of competitiveness, which will give the graduates of the technical university better employment in the labour market. Keywords:
