Abstract:
Higher education in the Czech Republic is realised at higher education institutions that are academically or professionally oriented. In both types two levels of study programmes can be offered: bachelor or/and master degree programme (the Ph.D. study programmes are offered only at the academically oriented universities). The main difference between academically and professionally oriented institutions lies in the length of the practice which is a part of the study programme. All professionally oriented universities or colleges must offer the study programmes with at least 12 weeks of practice during one semester. The College of Polytechnics Jihlava belongs to the 26 public higher education institutions in the Czech Republic and it is one of the two non-university public and professionally oriented colleges in this country. All practically oriented study programmes offered by this college (8 bachelor and 1 master study programmes) contain at least 14 weeks of compulsory practice in a selected company. The aim of the professional practice is to enable the student to verify the knowledge acquired through the study of individual subjects of the study programme in practical activities in specific situations in organisations and to supplement this knowledge with practical experience. At the end of each internship, company representatives fill in a questionnaire evaluating the students' involvement. The aim of this paper is to analyze the questionnaires completed by companies in the years 2016-2019 to identify differences between years and, based on the responses, recommend any changes for future student placements. The analysis is aimed at the practice of the students of the study programme Finance and Management. In the selected years, dozens of students each year completed practice of 15-18 weeks.
