Abstract:
The College of Polytechnics Jihlava belongs to the 26 public higher education institutions in the Czech Republic and it is one of the two non-university public colleges in this country. All study programmes taught at this college (8 bachelor and 2 master study programmes) are practically oriented. It means that during their study, students must complete several weeks (12-18 weeks) of compulsory practice in a selected company. The aim of the professional practice is to enable the student to verify his / her knowledge acquired by studying individual subjects of the study program in practical activities in specific situations of organizations and to supplement these knowledge with practical experience. At the end of the practice each student fills a questionnaire evaluating his / her practice. The aim of this article is to analyze the questionnaires completed by students and to find out which type of companies/organizations are preferred and why, and finally to suggest possible improvements in practice with regard to student opinions. The analysis is aimed at the questionnaires completed by students of the study programme Finance and Management during last three years. The differences among the years are also analysed using Chi-square tests of independence.
