Abstract:
Virtual reality systems have been developed primarily for the sector of entertainment. However, currently they are considered still more and more as tools with a high potential of their use in industry and education, too. In their research, the authors deal just with the possibilities of the use of these systems in technical education, at particular in the field of secondary school industrial practice (vocational education and training). In consequence of the pandemic situation, they are dealing with development of a virtual reality application, which would enable at least partially to replace personal forms of excursions by virtual forms. To solve the stated issue, it was necessary to identify key topics and didactics ways for the potential use of the virtual reality systems in this area. These were identified based on opinions of a group of relevant authorities. Subsequently the conclusions resulted from the expert opinions were confronted with technical possibilities of present-day virtual reality systems. Output of this part of the research is a SWOT analysis of technical possibilities of the present-day virtual reality systems to solve the stated task. Finally, results of the processed SWOT analysis are presented and discussed in more detail. Keywords:
