Abstract:
Aim of writing of this paper is to determine the possibility of e-Learning for the entrepreneurial activities, most importantly the education of the enterprise so as to achieve better economic prosperity of the nations.
With the industrial revolution and economic globalization, increasing number of graduates from diverse fields is motivated to start their own ventures. Their choice of being entrepreneurial is solely dependent on the market needs and profitability and not on the basis of area in which they have specialized or educated at graduate or postgraduate level. Also, many established entrepreneurs wish to change or expand their area of business activity due to cut throat competition, introduction of better and cheaper products by the competitor as a result of major technological change etc. For such existing and the new entrepreneurs, there exists a great deal of challenge in acquiring the required know-how and the knowledge of the technology for the business activities. Also there are entrepreneurs who wish to apply the contemporary orientation towards their business. These people are not in the position to attend regular courses, which tends to be lengthy at universities for the want of time but always have a need to learn new techniques for enhancing the commercial business success.

This paper explores the role of e - learning in promoting entrepreneurship development and examines its relevance compared to the problems faced by the companies. The paper outlines the role that education plays in promoting entrepreneurship. It has been documented that firms can benefit from programs aimed at increasing their awareness of business management, marketing, financial management and ICT. The paper further discusses about the benefits of e-learning to first generation entrepreneurs in infant stage, existing entrepreneurs looking for implementing new technical and managerial advancements for their business growth. Paper also caters towards showing the importance of e-learning for those enterprises which are looking for the expansion or change of their business in the area other than the one in which these are working at present. Finally the paper outlines the experience of some of the agencies / Universities involved in e – learning.

It has been concluded that the e-learning programs if employed with a great thought may provide tangible opportunities for the young and mature entrepreneurs to gain commercial advantage, profitability and the overall growth of the business thus reducing some of the problems faced.
