Abstract:
Thousands of schools around the world are now using a range of mobile technologies in the classroom, including the widely used iPads. It is a great teaching tool that is significantly transforming the way students and teachers learn, interact and collaborate. It is not uncommon for schools today to have hundreds of iPads and they have become part of everyday teaching. However, when working with any technology, we very often encounter the limits of managing them. In the case of these digital aids, the biggest challenge is ensuring that new apps are installed, school WiFi is set up, and that the iPad settings are adjusted to prevent both misuse and malfunction. Many schools are tackling this management with a human-manual approach, where each iPad is set up individually as needed and then the required apps are uploaded. This is where MDM - remote management comes in, where all the necessary actions can now be set up by the school iPad administrator in bulk, remotely and most importantly in a fraction of the time.

MDM has been around for a few years now, but is only now starting to achieve features and capabilities that greatly simplify the use of iPads and, above all, make the work of teachers and IT administrators more efficient.

What is MDM?

MDM (Mobile Device Management) is a mobile device management method that provides centralized management and control of mobile devices in corporate and school environments. Remote mobile device management allows IT administrators to remotely manage and monitor mobile devices, regardless of their location. This includes monitoring device status, software updates, remotely deleting data, and granting access rights to applications and data. MDM remote mobile device management brings many benefits such as reducing mobile device management costs, enhancing security features and protecting against data loss. Overall, MDM remote mobile device management helps organizations make mobile device maintenance and security easier and more secure, allowing employees to work more efficiently and productively.

How can MDM contribute in a school environment?
1. Device Management: iPad mobile device management allows IT departments to monitor and control access to data and applications on student and teacher devices. Device configuration, software updates, and application installations can also be managed remotely.
2. Security: MDM remote management allows school IT departments to monitor and secure mobile devices against data theft or loss.
3. Remote access: remote access to school information systems can provide students and teachers the ability to access educational materials and assignments from any device with an internet connection.
4. Data storage: Schools can use MDM remote management to provide students and teachers with secure and concurrent access to stored documents and information.
5. Classroom use: The teacher can now share learning materials with students in the classroom in real time. View the content of each student's iPad in class on their iPad screen and share wirelessly to a data projector instantly if needed. Respond instantly to currently assigned work in class and use the iPad to help solve the problem immediately.

MDM can help schools improve facilities management, safety and teaching efficiency.

The presentation includes a demonstration of the capabilities and features of MDM, which fundamentally transforms the way mobile technology has been used in the classroom.
