Abstract:

An integral part of the educational process is the introduction of new scientific knowledge and innovation in teaching. For documentation can give you an example CIDEAS research center (Center for Integrated Designer Advanced Structures), which was founded at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava in 2005 and whose work will be completed in 2011. Center addresses the specific challenges that have emerged from the needs of professional practice. Center is funded by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic (Ministry of Education Youth and Sports) and by specialized companies in the Czech Republic. In tasks involving scientific staff of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and young doctoral work. One of the tasks undertaken by the task Management are maintenance of buildings in areas of increased industrial activity and Energy Architectural design of buildings and industrial sites for conversion. The output solution of these tasks, the methodology of the evaluation of buildings with regard to the European Directive EPBD (European Performance Building Directive), utility models and professional publications. The results of the center are also applied in education, especially master degree in Civil Engineering degree program.
