Abstract:
Protection of the life, health, property and environment of residents consists of a number of components. To ensure these needs from the point of view of crisis management, a system of civil protection was created. Knowledge of civil protection in a given state brings broader knowledge about the given issue and can bring opportunities for a better response by residents in the event of an emergency. It is important that the inhabitants of municipalities master the basic principles of behaviour and procedures in the event of an emergency. This will allow crisis managers to react more flexibly to possible crisis phenomena and protect the population. In order for the inhabitants of the municipalities to be prepared, it is necessary to focus on education itself at schools, where they should acquire knowledge about the issue. On the basis of the created questionnaire, the opinion of the students of the selected secondary school on the issue of civil protection was ascertained using the inquiry method. The questionnaire was designed in such a way that it was possible to find out their knowledge of the issue and they also had the opportunity to express their opinion on the appropriate method of education in the field of civil protection. Using the analysis of individual questions and the subsequent synthesis of all questionnaires, conclusions were drawn. Based on the results of the survey, new ways of educating high school students in the field of civil protection were proposed.
