Abstract:
The current situation with the pandemic has affected all spheres of society. Educational institutions were no exception. The teaching process in the educational system of the Slovak Republic had to be temporarily changed due to the protection of public health. This process at the University of Žilina during the first wave of the pandemic began to take place through self-study, distance or other suitable forms and assignments through e-learning. Subsequently, if the situation improved, they returned to school. This situation did not last long and the students had to switch to the distance form of teaching again due to the second wave of the pandemic. During the second wave, education was better prepared and all subjects went according to the schedule, but on-line. The article focuses on how the results of students of the University of Žilina, Faculty of Security Engineering, Department of Crisis Management were influenced in selected subjects. Selected subjects are focused on the economics, which is necessary for students and crisis managers to be able to manage crisis and create a safe environment in terms of various negative economic situations that could lead to crises in economics. Also, such kind of crises could be the trigger for various other crisis phenomena.
