In the current era of globalization, competition among businesses is increasing and creates space for businesses that are able to adapt to changing conditions and customer requirements. However, every company may find itself in a situation where a bad decision or event causes its weakening or even liquidation. Here starts crisis management, which aims to solve the present crisis, using specific approaches to overcoming the adverse consequences and recovery system.

It is the crisis manager's task to anticipate and deal with major crisis situation. In this area, within the extraordinary respectively crises are important quick and correct decisions of managers, which are based on the necessary expertise. Training of crisis managers is an important activity supporting the right decisions just in crisis situation. The University of Žilina, Faculty of Security Engineering, Department of Crisis Management is also involved in the education of students focused on this area. The article points out the study plans and the content of subjects that the student completes during the individual stages of study. Appropriate structure of subjects is to prepare an effective crisis manager. The study programs provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities aimed at solving crisis situation so that the graduate is ready to deal with crisis situations after graduation.
