Simulation teaching can help nursing students to familiar with and understand the process of caring the clinical psychiatric case. The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of simulation teaching infusing psychiatric nursing for nursing students in the associate degree program. The goal of this research in this stage was to develop the content, strategies, and activities of the psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] simulation teaching, and build up the indicators of professional psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] knowledge, attitudes, and skills for the nursing students. The research team of psychiatric teachers and the experts for the content counseling developed the content, strategies, and activities of the psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] simulation teaching, and build up the evaluating indicators of professional psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] knowledge, attitudes, and skills for nursing students to take care the psychiatric patients. The research team of psychiatric teachers has developed 17 knowledge questions, 10 items of evaluation attitudes, and a simulation case merging with six skills for nursing students to practice the professional psychiatric [therapeutic relationship]. Besides, a teaching protocol of psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] simulation was established. The content validity of 17 knowledge questions, 10 items of evaluation attitudes, and a simulation case merging with six skills as well as the teaching protocol of psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] simulation were validated by three psychiatric nursing experts. It recommended that the research team of psychiatric teachers could evaluate the knowledge testing of nursing students before and after the psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] simulation teaching to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation teaching in the classroom. Also, the indicators of professional psychiatric [therapeutic relationship] attitudes and skills for the nursing students were evaluated during psychiatric nursing practicum to post evaluate the effectiveness of psychiatric nursing clinical practicum.
