Abstract:
The responsible environmental behavior is the widely accepted goal of an environmental education and very important part of the environmental literacy of the individual. Therefore it is important to know how is this goal connected with leisure activities of pupils and other important variables. The paper deals with the pupils of primary school in the Czech Republic (N = 70), their leisure activities and some of the aspect of their responsible environmental behavior. The research has the quantitative design, using the original questionnaire designed by the authors. The questionnaire consists of three parts: the socio-demographical background of the respondents, their leisure activities, and their responsible environmental behavior. The third part of the questionnaire is picture-based. The results show the important role of the size of the hometown, the age and the gender of the pupils. The higher results on responsible environmental behavior were also achieved by the respondents that have regular leisure activities. The paper also discusses limits of the presented research as well as the opportunities for further research on the topic.Keywords:
