Abstract:
Modern society and modern information and communication technology are closely connected. All aspects of human lives are penetrated by technologies and gradually became one of the educational priorities when training teachers. To enhance this process, EU funded project “Tablety do škol” was launched in the past. The focus of the project was equipping schools with tablets and training teachers to use these efficiently by professional lecturers. The main topic of my thesis is the opposite side of the issue: what is the level of skills to work with modern ICT devices in the age group 5 – 7 years. Modern information and communication technology is becoming available to younger children, which brings to their lives both positive and negative aspects. Are modern information and communication devices available to children in the families? And if so, what kind of devices? How do children handle these? How much time do children spend using these outside managed activities in pre-school facilities? The research is focused on preschool children (5 – 7 years). It points to experiences of children with information and communication equipment prior entering elementary school, where more extensive use of modern information technologies is expected – especially during educational process.
