Abstract:
The formation of "green" skills in the interests of sustainable development in the conditions of continuous education is the basis for the harmonious interaction between nature and modern society.
In the framework of the international project “SusDev-Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Development” at the Moscow State University of Food Production (MSUFP) international and Russian experience of teaching "green" skills was studied. On the basis of the conducted research educational programs in which ecologization of existing curriculum and programs of fundamental, applied and general educational disciplines in all links of system of education (taking into account the type of profile specificity and the students’ age) were developed.
The essential knowledge for the development of green skills was systematized and structured. This has enabled the development of training modules, which include work programs and teaching kits for the four levels of education:
• secondary vocational education;
• baccalaureate;
• magistracy;
• additional education.
A curriculum called "Introduction into green technology" has been developed for the first level of secondary vocational education, which is already included in the educational plan of the international College of technology of MSUFP. The course is designed for 18 hours; training takes place in the face-to-face format. The introduction of an independent subject at this stage creates a scientific foundation of ecological knowledge of students.
Two programs have been developed for the bachelor's degree (second level), which are currently being implemented at 3 Russian universities. One of these programs is designed to study the material in the training center, and the second is included in the curriculum. These programs allow to reveal applied aspects of ecological knowledge and interrelation in the system "nature – man – sustainable society". The regional peculiarities (natural, ethnic, historical, cultural, economic, etc.) were taken into account at the moment of creation. The program at the training center allows us to identify the importance of creating a single information ecological, educational and cultural space in Russia.
Educational programs for master's degree were developed jointly with colleagues from Kazakhstan and are designed for students both in Russia and in Kazakhstan. This program plays an important role for the modern stage of integration of Russian and world environmental education of professionals who today should have a "green" competence.
Further education programs are prepared for teachers (schools, colleges and institutes) and for food industry workers wishing to improve their skills. Training programs have been developed for industry workers and are undertaken within the framework of additional professional education. Education is conducted remotely and in face-to-face format. Students, based on the knowledge gained in the study of these courses, perform various projects. These programs are important for environmental training of people who make decisions in the areas of food and agricultural production, as well as to raise awareness among the business community in the field of green knowledge.
These results suggest that the developed in MSUFP training programs allow to increase the role of higher education institutions in ensuring sustainable development of industry and society, support of national "green policy" in partner countries and promotion of "green culture".
