Abstract:
The current education system in Slovakia does not achieve the desired results and its quality is still decreasing. The authors of the study believe that one of the reasons for the low international rat-ing of universities in Slovakia is the weak ability of critical thinking on the part of students and teachers. We consider relevant study of metaphysics at schools of all levels as an important tool for increasing critical thinking among students and thus the quality of their education.

According to current research, the young generation faces the phenomenon of digital dementia and the loss of critical perception of reality as a result of digital technologies. Metaphysics raises important philosophical and existential questions that have been neglected for decades. The study compares the metaphysical bases of Hawking's cosmology and the Judeo-Christian narrative of creation, which are two key focal points in the ellipse of discourse on fundamental philosophical bases.
