Abstract:
We live in a time of information and prevalent influence of digital media, in which the student's moral formation is gaining in importance during the educational period. The current applied ethics discourse implicitly points to the absence of metaethical bases necessary for the relevant critical assessment of the amount of information the student has access to.

The study is based on neuroscientific research on child development in the early years of life and extrapolates them to the broader context of student moral formation in school education. The authors underline the importance of the teacher's moral profile and the uniqueness of his / her relationship with students to form their inner ethical compass.
