Abstract:
The choice of programming controller is not limited to the control of simulations in our teaching aid. It enables the teaching of programming on a wide range of devices and in a large number of programming languages. The main goal of the educational tool is to introduce the processes of programming different devices in different programming languages to students on one modular platform.

Europe faces a shortage of skilled workers and specialists in industry 4.0. Our approach to alleviating the lack of qualified personnel is anchored in motivating students and pupils to study technology. We designed a teaching aid Digital Automation Laboratory to achieve that, as well as to enhance the education process in the field of technology. This tool was designed and constructed by the Department of Technology and Information Technologies at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, Slovakia, where it is used to teach industrial programming. The device simulates industry practice and incorporates a range of controllers, including microcontroller Micro:bit, Arduino and industrial programmable logic controllers. The tool offers an unlimited choice when it comes to running simulations in class. It allows students to practice on a variety of programming devices in several languages.

The purpose of the teaching aid is to familiarize students with the programming of devices in different languages on one modular platform.
