Abstract:
An analysis of 3D printing technologies and which of them are used in the industry is made, as well as a comparison between several companies. An analysis of the difficulties and challenges with using the technologies and the required courses and education level for their successful implementation is created. Some positive feedback courses which are applied successfully are discussed. A comparison of methods for the inclusion of 3D printing in the education of students is made. A model for the inclusion of 3D printing in the learning process is created. Methods for the integration of such a model with a 3D virtual learning environment are discussed. A test environment for the application of some of the methods is designed. Some suggestions on how to integrate the printing software with the already existing systems are included. An observation about the cost of such an inclusion of 3D printing is presented. Conclusions about the possible effects on the students, such as - boost in creativity, increased motivation, the gain of relevant and marketable skills and possible boost in confidence because of the achieved results are reached. Keywords:
