Abstract:
A short analysis and classification of innovative visualization methods in the education and training using 3D and VR models is made. Analysis of challenges occurring during the development of the 3D web learning environments are presented. Some successful approaches are discussed. A conceptual model of 3D web learning environment for mechanical engineering education is created. The model includes several submodules, such as an administrative, student, teacher, VR, test, e-learning resources and 3D visualization and 3D measuring module. A methodology for training students using the conceptual model of 3D learning environment is outlined. Single exercise modules have already been realized and used in practice with students in the department of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Ruse and they will be shortly introduced and some advantages and disadvantages for educating students will be discussed in the paper.
