Abstract:
This paper presents a selected summary of the results of a survey carried out by means of a questionnaire among workers in residential social services facilities. The aim of the research was to identify, analyze and interpret the current situation in the area of partner relationships, intimacy and sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities from the perspective of workers in residential social services in the Czech Republic through quantitative data collection techniques (questionnaires). In this context, to identify whether and how the issue and attitudes to it have evolved and changed over the last 15 years and to find out whether there is a statistically significant link between the significant factors that could influence attitudes of the individual to sexuality and sexual awareness, views respondent and the actual implementation of support in this area. This paper defines first the basic terms, and then we will present a methodological basis of the research, a presentation on the results of the research and conclusions. It can be stated that many changes and shifts have occurred in the area of access to partnerships for people with intellectual disabilities. Some of them are concretized in the text of the paper.
