Abstract:
This paper will focus on the form of lifelong learning courses in the way they are understood at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Brno University of Technology. The author is a member of Institute of Technology, Mechanization and Construction Management Faculty of Civil Engineering and has more than 4 years’ experience as professional guarantor of courses for lifelong learning. The paper will be focused on the topics courses, their length and the ways of the outputs of these courses.

Courses are available in two basic forms. First, it is perceived as a target group of students and also the target group of graduates from technical universities, who are already in practice. If the target is group of students, it is mostly about the courses that complement its content subjects taught at the faculty. The aim of these courses is to provide students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge already during their study. If the target is group of graduates of technical specialization, the basic purpose of the course is to update the knowledge of the participants on new trends and technologies. The paper will provide a basic overview of the purpose of the courses currently offered topics and percentage of the previously mentioned types of courses at the author’s workplace.
