Abstract:
During the pandemic, it became significant that education is one of the key areas that must be flexible and respond to new conditions and demands. The paper deals with the topic of the impact of the pandemic on the course of university studies. The main goal of the paper is to create a summary of theoretical background from the field of higher education and its processes in connection with the recent situation of the pandemic and its impact on the life of the student and pedagogical part of the academic community. The theoretical background is used as a base, from which research questions are compiled. Primary research is carried out in the form of questionnaires, which were distributed among the student and pedagogical part of the academic community within Slovak universities. The aim of the primary research is to gain knowledge about the attitudes of students and teachers towards the educational process at the time of the pandemic. The results and findings of the questionnaire are presented as well as the future opportunities and challenges that arise from distance learning.
