Abstract:
Peer student assistants (PSAs) in higher education have been relatively frequently used in the pedagogical curriculum within higher education courses around the world. This article analyses the role and significance of PSAs and the importance of the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) on students’ performance within the course Project management in the first cycle study Higher Education Professional Study Programme Administration in 2018/19 academic year. PSAs were students who were leading the groups of 4–7 students who were inroled in the same course as PSAs.

Based on the results from the survey with PSAs and other students in the class, the findings reveal that combining PSAs and available ICT within the class increase the comprehension of the learning material among students, encouraging active participation in lessons and leads to successful completion of the course. The findings from the study can help teachers to improve students’ active participation within the pedagogical process and increase the overall quality of the course.
