Abstract:
Integration of science and education has lead to the need to involve Russian academics in international activities. However, the survey shows that the readiness of the academic staff for international activities is not sufficient enough to fulfill the requirement for international cooperation with foreign colleagues (communications skills, knowledge of legislation, awareness of requirements, ethical standards in science and education). And the criteria to measure the readiness of the academic staff are not homogeneous.

In this paper, we propose a model to train the readiness of the academic staff for international activities for those lecturers who a) have a high standard of English; b) have participated in international projects in scientific and educational spheres.

The basis of the model is composed of the study of normative documents, analysis of scientific literature, surveys of young scientists. The model is presented at three levels: conceptual, pedagogical and practical-oriented.

The conceptual model is:
a) oriented to the development of competencies of the academic staff for international activities;
b) based on the system-synergetic approach, cultural approach, human-oriented and andragogical approaches;
c) implemented on guiding principles (systematic, synergetic, adult education).

The main system property is the alignment of training with the decision of professional tasks.

The pedagogical model includes the target, informative and analytical components.

The practical level of the model is presented by a training program consisting of five modules: "Methodological base for higher education internationalization", "Academic mobility", "International research activities", "Intercultural interaction in science"," Intercultural interaction in higher education"," International programs: design and implementation".

The implementation of the program allowed to enhance the level of the academic staff competencies in inter-national activities; to apply global experience in the use of modern education technologies and e-learning; to meet the requirements of relevant educational standards; to compare global and national values, ethics of interaction in scientific and educational spheres.
