Abstract:
Objectives:
The aim of the review study was to find out which areas related to critical thinking delt at the scientific level in Slovakia and abroad can be the subject of redesign of the compulsory pedagogical-psychological basis of the field of teaching. The partial goal was to analyze the connections between critical thinking and psychological literacy - the compulsory capability of a future teacher.

Sample and setting:
The sample consisted of 50 studies from Slovakia and 50 studies from abroad. We preferred a deliberate choice. The result of the analysis process (March 2020 - September 2020) was the creation of six analytical categories.

Statistical analysis:
When summarizing the survey studies, simple statistical procedures were used: frequency and percentage evaluation (areas and topics of scientific research). When creating analytical categories, we preferred multi-level sorting and a simple comma method.

Hypotheses.
These were basic descriptive questions:
1. What areas of research do we identify in scientific studies in Slovakia and abroad in 2015 - 2020?
2. Which areas are the stimulus for the innovation of compulsory pedagogical-psychological training in the field of teacher study programmes?

Results:
Psychological literacy is one of the identified areas abroad, which could be a the stimulus for the redesign of undergraduate training at teaching faculties. The theoretical starting point is based on the conceptualization of critical thinking presented in the Delphi report (Facione, 1990).
Keywords:
Critical thinking, research areas and topics, critical thinking & psychological literacy.
