Abstract:
The paper is focused on presenting the need to implement action research in terms of pre-primary education. It also refers to a teaching position in pre-primary education as the researcher's own teaching practice. Concurrently it focuses on the concept of qualitative methodology in examining the learning process. It presents an action research in pre-primary education in the use of digital technologies with reference to changes in teacher thinking as a consequence of research projects. The intention of the investigation was to determine whether pre-primary education teacher develops autonomy, competence and collaboration of children by applying social and cognitive model of teaching in the learning process through digital technologies. Currently, children in non-school settings are in contact with digital technologies and their school does not offer these options, specifically not widely used digital technology. Based on this and previous experience of teachers in pre-primary education, but also based on exchange information with other teachers was found that teachers in pre-primary education hardly used at all digital technology in the learning process to improve and streamline teaching, which must included also change the very nature of teaching.
Research problem: (No) use of digital technologies to support learning and teaching in pre-primary education.

Research objectives:

• Find out whether the changes, and how it changes the nature of quality teaching children with regular and targeted use of digital technologies.
• Identify the causes of insufficient use of digital technologies in various educational activities.
• Obtain information about changes in competence of children - increasing their autonomy during the research and development of digital information competence.
