Abstract:
Digital economy as a necessary stage of development of modern states in the conditions of transition to the sixth technological order entails a change in the structure of employment, the extinction or change in the content of traditional professions, the emergence of new types of employment and types of professional activity. The digitization of the economy also leads to the growth of various forms of employment, the growth of the precariate. The purpose of this article is to study the model of continuous self-determination of the individual throughout life in the digital economy.

Research methods:
The main theoretical foundations of the study are the theory of the information society, information culture, human capital. Research methods used in the work - analysis of documents, analysis of statistical data.

The results of the study:
The process of professional self-determination in the current socio-economic conditions becomes unattached to certain age periods (first of all, traditionally by the end of schooling). It is caused by the need to adapt workers to changes in the labor market, including those associated with digitalization in various sectors of the economy. Continuous professional self-determination throughout life is due to the forced or deliberate change in the course of a working career of several types of professional activity, high intra and inter-professional mobility. Under such conditions, professional self-determination and the success of a professional career depend on the accumulation of the individual social, intellectual, digital capital of an employee.
