Abstract:
On the back of 2020, saying that the world of education is in a difficult situation sounds like un understatement to the turmoil we are currently in. Are we capable of turning problems into opportunities to create value, or we are not going to be able to leave to the expectations of our business and society as a whole? The aim of this paper is to explore the options that the sustainability as part of our modern curriculum could bring to the education system.

For this purpose, we present some of the results received from the project „EduLab4Future “, which focuses on “Stepping-up and promoting Education&Innovation toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Educational Laboratory for Accelerating civic Skills and sustainable Businesses”, and is financed through the program ERASMUS+”. “The project keeps pace with current challenges concerning to complex skills development, social inclusion, active citizenship, democratic values and sustainable growth, puts its thematic focus on UN global goals (i.e. SDG #4. Quality education to create a sustainable development) and entails a mixt of actions which promotes the European common values and active citizenship, strengthening the Europe’s skills and identity. The project aims to design, develop and multiply innovative pedagogies (Educational Laboratory) framed by SDGs education by stimulating social, civic, and intercultural skills development of students, teachers and practitioners towards sustainable business approaches, promoting learning and teaching ICT-based practices alongside with accelerated international cooperation between education, innovation and labor market. For this purpose the members of the project consortium (University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania – coordinator; University of Ruse, Bulgaria; Eurotraining Solution Ltd., Romania; S.C. Infor Elea, Italy; University of Lodz, Poland; Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic) prepare and deliver (on-line) a questionary in order to establish the learning needs of all participants involved in the future laboratories (students; teachers and business representatives).

“Learning to learn in regard to the SDGs” was used as a moto in constructing the instrument, the proceeded data from the empirical study has given us the opportunity to elaborate on the possibility that implementing the sustainable development issues through SDGs into our curriculum could be the only way to succeed in the current environment.
