Abstract:
Various changes and development is seen especially in information Technologies domain. Many new methods are being developed in order to provide the effective usage of information Technologies in today’s education environments. One of these new methods is webquest method. Bernie Dodge defines webquest method as “an activity based on research from which students obtain information via internet to use and work co-operatively”. Webquests increased the usage of internet as a source. This study was applied to 120 students who attend to Computer I course in Ahmet Kelesoglu Faculty of Education, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology in 2011-2012 academic year. The purpose of this study is to compare webquest method and other traditional methods by applying this new method in the subject of Powerpoint 2010 in Computer I course.
Data collected as a result of the study were analysed and in consequence of the findings, it is seen that webquest method has a more logical effect on success levels of the learners, in comparison with the traditional methods.
