Abstract:
This paper focuses on the different ways of using Educational Digital Stories about Nutritional food labelling in Nutrition and Health Education classrooms. Digital stories are used as supplemental learning tools in four different modes, namely:
(a) case-based,
(b) narrative-based,
(c) scenario-based, and
(d) problem-based.

Each approach presents students with the digital story that is comprised of an ordered sequence of information about nutritional food labelling and uses an attention-focusing mechanism for the learning of specific subjects, related to food labelling. An example of all the possible ways of using a digital story about food labelling will be presented by adopting each one of the aforementioned modes. Teachers could use any of the aforementioned approaches taking into account the curricula, the available time for the learning activity, and students’ educational level and employ digital stories in order students to be supported to verify their knowledge through active learning and appropriate feedback to correct their misconceptions.
