Abstract:
This paper describes a technologically supported scenario for the learning of “The role of nutrients in the human body function and in the health status” by primary level education pupils. This scenario exploits an educational digital story about the specific topic in four instructional modes, namely: case-based, narrative-based, scenario-based and problem-based. The integration of the digital story in the teaching process in various ways will aid both teachers and pupils. Teachers will have the possibility to be supported in building constructivist, meaningful, and motivating learning environments and pupils to be engaged in the learning process and establish their knowledge through active learning, collaboration, and appropriate feedback to correct their misconceptions. Through this scenario pupils will also comprehend that it is necessary to balance all necessary nutrients in their diet in order to keep their body healthy.
