Abstract:
Socio-spatial segregation in many European cities particularly disadvantages the socially deprived residents of certain districts. The DILABoration R&D project focuses on non-formal education and participation of socially disadvantaged groups in urban social spaces with special development needs as part of the "Digital Impact Lab". In a selected disadvantaged district, non-formal and participatory educational offers for young people will be expanded by means of digital methods and the networking of various local actors. As part of the project, the offers will be evaluated through a multi-level analysis with various qualitative-empirical approaches and co-creative conceptual approaches will be further developed and tested. The aim is to explore and improve the conditions for the successful participation of disadvantaged young people in education in heterogeneous urban districts. The lab approach is aimed at promoting young people and supports local schools in particular at the respective neighborhood level through measures for students in the classroom, in the after-school area, in the school-related area and in the area of school-linked measures outside of schools. The approach also aims to support young people and young adults in order to give them better access to training and the job market. It directly supports this focus group in learning and training important digital skills, social skills and in learning how to learn using digital methods. A transfer concept for other municipalities and districts will be developed. A digital tool supports the transfer by analyzing which existing structures can be used to create a lab at the administrative and provider level. The suitability of the concept will be tested at several locations.
