Abstract:
The paper deals with burnout syndrome in the managerial profession, especially when a manager acts as an educator. Burnout syndrome is becoming an increasingly dangerous phenomenon, especially in professions with high psychological demands. The manager, in general, is under constant pressure. However, the pressure increases even more when the manager also becomes an educator, and his task is to pass on his knowledge and experience to others.

The paper aims to identify managers' level of burnout syndrome on the cognitive, emotional, physical and social levels and the overall level of burnout syndrome The survey method for the needs of the final thesis was the questionnaire of C. Hennig and G. Keller, which is based on self-observation and assessment of the occurrence of symptoms causing burnout. The questionnaire of C. Hennig and G. Keller is anonymous and consists of 24 items focused on the four levels mentioned above affected by burnout. Each level is assigned six items, and each item can be assigned 0 to 4 points according to the occurrence of the given symptom. The overall state of burnout can thus be evaluated from 0 to 96 points, from 0 to 24 points in each area.

The survey sample consisted of managers of different ages, educational attainment, and years of experience. The survey was carried out using personal visits to selected managers. At the beginning of the personal visit, the respondents were familiarized with the questionnaire. Then the respondents filled out the given questionnaire. Proportional and percentage indicators, which belong to mathematical-statistical methods, were used in calculating the sample size and evaluating the questionnaires.

The survey's main goal was to determine the level of burnout syndrome in the managerial profession. Since sub-goals supported this goal, it was first necessary to determine the level of teacher burnout on individual levels: cognitive level – good condition, emotional level – condition with warning symptoms, physical level – condition with warning symptoms, social level – good condition. As a result, the sum of the values of all four monitored levels represents the total level of the burnout syndrome of the monitored sample, which represents the borderline value between a good condition and a condition with warning symptoms.
