Abstract:
The educational sector has been undergoing technological transition with its numerous opportunities and challenges. Virtual classrooms, hybrid and blended forms of learning has been taking over from traditional classrooms. The real question is how might modern technologies help and be effectively used in educational processes at higher educational institutions?
One of possible answers could be the implementation of simulation game using modern educational technologies. Our case study is devoted to the re-design of a course focused on development of managerial skills for students as future owners, leaders and managers. The emphasis by designing the course has been put on identifying and testing new modern digital tools for enhancing effectivity in teaching this type of developmental course at bachelor level. The idea was to prepare a course combining traditional forms of teaching (face-to-face and virtual lectures with students´ seminars) and managerial simulation game based on gamification principles.
There is included a feedback received from students enrolled in this course as well included in which they stated that dealing with issues relevant to real practical situations in the simulation game enable them very intense and effective development of managerial and leadership skills.
