Abstract:
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and related modern technologies has brought tremendous opportunities and challenges for the whole society. As these technologies become increasingly pervasive, we can observe that they gain more and more attention. Furthermore, recent trends show that these technologies expanding dramatically and finding applications in diverse areas very quickly. The increasing prominence of AI deployment in education seems to be very significant and its applications are broad ranging from personalized learning systems to automated administrative tasks, offering potential benefits such as improved learning outcomes and increased efficiency (Javaid et al., 2022). Our study in this context has been based on a critical literature review and an empirical research facilitated by an online questionnaire. The main goal of our research was focused on revealing how is AI used at higher educational institutions and which benefits and obstacles are perceived by its usage. The research sample consisted of university students at bachelor, master and doctoral level and academics. The results identified a growing awareness and aspects of AI usage in educational process at higher educational institutions.
