Abstract:
We see the importance and justification of social work when an individual finds himself in a difficult situation, mainly due to various social factors and social circumstances. The problem of the exclusion of religious minorities from the majority society is not a new phenomenon in the context of social work. Its existence is even closely linked to other difficulties faced by individuals belonging to one of the religious minorities; these are, for example, problems related to unemployment, poverty, insufficient implementation, the family crisis or other pathological phenomena that are already a traditional subject of social work. Tackling the problem of social exclusion of minorities requires not only professional assistance and the right approach, but also great participation and sincere interest from social workers and counselors. The indicated issue is part of the research among university students with a humanities focus. The subject of our interest is quantitative research among adolescent students, focused on the issue of stereotyping of the young generation in Slovakia. The research is part of the reflection of the issue from the point of view of social work with religious minorities in Slovakia.
