Abstract:
The subject of our interest is stereotyping, as an obstacle in the current integration of marginalized groups into the society of countries in the context of the European Union. Our effort is to approach the issue of stereotyping of selected marginalized groups and its impact on the present and the future at a time when in general, various cultural, racial and religious prejudices prevail. The need for this kind of research and reasoning also arises on the basis of growing fears and anxieties, but also skepticism, suspicion and the strengthening of phobias that accumulate within the monitored marginalized groups and in the relations of these groups with the majority. In qualitative research, we examine the nature of the stereotyping of Gypsies, Jews and Muslims in the countries of the European Union. Using knowledge from the field of social work, we then create a proposal for a prevention program in the fight against the stereotyping of the studied minorities. In an effort to maintain the greatest possible representativeness of research, we approach a methodology based on qualitative-quantitative research design, i. e. a combination of a qualitative method of multi-participants interview and a quantitative questionnaire. The time limit of the researched issue represents the beginning of the millennium and the end of 2019 - it is a period of 20 years - i. e. about a period when stereotyping against Gypsies, Jews and Muslims in European countries became not only a negative phenomenon, but also an urgent call for the acceptance of cultural diversity or calls for preventive measures that would effectively address problems and solutions.
