Abstract:
During last years, the education in bachelor’s and master’s degree in the field of the Public Health and the Health Care in Bulgaria is in a process of fast development. We observe an introduction of innovative elements in the education – practice and student-centered approach; illustration of the material with a lot of clinical cases (including demonstration of patients); application of modern devices; multi-media power point presentations; introduction of elements of programme-based learning; modern methods for stimulation of students’ participation; students’ investigations; contemporaneous methods of evaluation (periodic and final control).
In this context we created a bank of open and closed questions (one choice and multiple choice) in the field of rehabilitation, and we applied these questionnaires in the processus of evaluation of students in specialties “Physiotherapy” (Bachelor’s degree); "Medical cosmetics“ and "Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology“ (master’s degree) and medical doctors – trainees in “Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine”.
With these questionnaires (adapted to the correspondent level of competence) we realized periodic and final evaluation of students in disciplines: Manual therapy; Relaxing SPA treatments; Cosmetic SPA procedures; Balneology; Preventive rehabilitation, SPA & Wellness; Neurorehabilitation; Medical rehabilitation & Balneology in pediatric neurological diseases.
Authors evaluated the efficacy of the introduction of tests in the education of students – for real and adequate qualitative and quantitative evaluation of professional competencies of students, and for stimulation of their initiative, participation and auto-evaluation.
Applied tests can assure an evolution of the education and a transition from the traditional (conventional) education, to an active (open) education, and (in the future) to an electronic learning (e-learning). Keywords:
