Abstract:
The impact of technological development is changing the form of tools for time management of a student. Tools for effective time management are transformed from paper to electronic forms in order to meet needs of today's digital age.

This paper focuses on portfolio of time management tools for university students. In the introduction there are defined basic concepts of solved issues, the methods used to organize the time and also tools to make optimal use of time and completing tasks. There are presented time management tools in regard to the current trend of smartphones and mobile applications.

Subsequently, the article focuses on the analysis of the status and awareness of time management in Slovakia and abroad as well as the analysis of current, recommended online solutions for time management. The work clarifies the effect of time management on the success of the student's work and the barriers for effective time management of university students.

The article analyzes the current online solutions for time management and presents results of primary research that has been focused on finding what tools students of University of Zilina use and need for time management. In the article, there is described a portfolio of tools for task management, student´s time and plans. Research is used to obtain attitudes, needs and opinions of students. A method of questioning was chosen to conduct the research. The target group of research were full-time and part-time students of study program Electronic Business and Management at the Department of Communications, University of Zilina.
