Abstract:
Inter-peer relationships have exceptional importance during school period. Success or failure in establishing, keeping, development or breaking negative relations may be reflected in different areas of students' lives, especially in those connected with their self-identification, social functioning and academic achievements.
The quality of inter-peer relationships in the mentioned period are manifested primarily in the dimensions of students’ popularity and friendships. If an individual experiences his/her status as being negative, or if he/she does have such a status, there is a possibility he/she will develop attitudes that will be reflected in losing a desire for or avoiding further friendship relations, in accepting the negative status or in developing unwanted forms of behaviour.
The authors of this work see the change of the principles of logotherapeutic approach in the advisory work with students as one of the potential possibilities of changing this situation. Such acting of educational experts is directed at preventing students’ potential crisis situations in that the experts, by way of advisory work, commonly recognize and face the symptoms like boredom, rejection or alienation.
The aim of the author's work, based on the analysis and synthesis of the results of available research in the field of logotherapy, is to problematize the possibilities and limitations of the logotherapeutic approach in pedagogical counseling work with students in the field of peer relationships.
Recognizing the areas that the student can change represents the first step towards the goal of developing the readiness to assume responsibility for changing his/her own status in the inter-peer relations and to make decisions which will initiate the desired change. Keywords:
