Abstract:
Remote laboratories are one of the the most advanced ways in implementing new computer technology to education. Real experiments are mounted in the laboratory of a certain university, and the acces to them can be made via Internet. The link is done remotely through the Web, being able in some cases to observe the experiment development through a TV camera also connected to the Internet, this allowing students being placed at the actual laboratory.
Such systems are undoubtedly a huge advantage in science teaching, since many laboratories do not have enough equipment to perform certain experiments.
Surpassed the technological problem of developing the experiment and designing the remote access to it, the central question that arises is didactic in nature: How to approach the implementation of these devices for teaching? How to do instructional design? and how to evaluate the results in physics learming?
In this paper a general description of the architecture of the devices as well as some didactic strategies for its use in experiments of rigid body mechanics are presented.
The results of the implementation of one of the developed estrategies with a group of engineering students are also exposed. They show a meangfuly learning of physics concepts and laws related with dinamics and energy of a rigid body roling down on a inclinated plane.
