Abstract:
The current state of children's use of digital technology in leisure activities is widespread and children often spend more and more time in front of screens on phones, tablets, computers and other smart devices. Many studies have shown that digital technologies can facilitate our daily activities in everyday life, at work and in children's education.

However, it is extremely important that parents are aware of the digital technologies their children use, how they are able to deal with inappropriate content and whether they are able to protect their children from potential risks online.

This article discusses parents' attitudes towards their children's leisure use of digital technologies. The main aim is to provide an overview of parents' current state of children's use of digital technologies in leisure activities in the Czech Republic. Particular attention is paid to internet safety issues such as the risks of excessive use of digital technologies, the existence of harmful content or inappropriate behaviour on social networks.

To collect data, an online questionnaire was created containing factual data and questions about parents' opinions and attitudes towards their children's leisure use of digital technologies. The research analyses various factors influencing parents' views and attitudes towards their children's use of digital technologies, such as the age of the child, family background and other socio-cultural and economic factors.

The results of the research provide us with valuable information on whether parents have a good understanding of their children's use of digital technologies in their free time and whether they are able to protect them from potential dangers on the Internet or limit their screen time. This article is a useful resource not only for parents, but also for educators and others interested in the use of digital technologies in the context of children's leisure activities, and provides a necessary basis for further research in this area.
