Abstract:

This text is a postdoctoral research project linked to the theme of university extension, involving professors from several Ibero-American countries, who make up RIEX – Network of Researchers in University Extension, created in 2023, which currently has 120 members. The discussion in the text encompasses the need to break with the traditional and technical paradigm, with specific actions of assistance and service provision, aimed at an academic, procedural, organic, critical, praxic, emancipatory, and (con)science conception, aimed at academic formation and social transformation. Through the five cycles of debates, which took place between April and September 2025, involving 24 RIEX members from 14 countries, we elected seven categories of analysis of the theme of university extension, namely:
1. Conceptions and meanings,
2. Inseparability,
3. Teacher training,
4. University autonomy and regulation,
5. Materialization,
6. Financing, and
7. Politics and economics.

We hope that this text can contribute to the construction of knowledge and also as an expression of internationalization.
