Abstract:
Flipped classroom is a pedagogical model based on active learning that supports a student-centered activities. Class time can be repurposed into a “workshop where students can inquire about lecture content, test their skills in applying knowledge” (“Flipped”, 2012, p. 1) and engage in collaborative, hands-on activities. An effective flipped classroom requires careful preparation and organization of the lectures and in-class activities that complement and support each other engaging students in active learning.

This presentation will introduce the flipped classroom model, discuss pedagogical and practical reasons for implementing it; how higher education faculty use and integrate flipped classroom, drawbacks and benefits, and what technology tools instructors can use in and outside the classroom implementing and supporting flipped learning. in addition, how to design, implement and evaluate flipped classroom will be discussed. The main goal of this presentation is to provide tips and ideas for an effective flipped classroom while integrating technology tools to support flipped learning.
